ABSTRACT

62 cases of the laryngeal papilloma were analysed clinically and statistically. The results are as follows : 1) The tumor was most predominant in 1st and 4th decade, although striking predominance in childhood was not observed. 2) There was no sexual difference in children, but male was predominant 2 times in adult. 3) True vocal cords were involved most frequently(41.9%). 2 cases of tracheobronchial involvement were observed. 4) The tumor was presented as multiple broad based mass in 84% of cases. Average recurrence rate was 71.0%. There was no significant statistical difference in multiplicity and recurrence rate between juvenile and adult onset type. 5) Complication associated with treatment occurred in 21% of cases, more frequently in children. Tracheostomy was necessary in 24.2% of cases, and more frequently in children.;
