The Statistical Research of Otolaryngological Malignancies-1,207 Cases

ABSTRACT

By the statistical research of otolaryngological malignancies-1,207 cases, author obtained the results as follows : 1) All cases were 878 males and 329 females : Sex ration was 2.7 : 1. 2) Carcinoma was 973 cases, sarcoma 154 cases. Above 80% of all malignancies was carcinoma. 3) Regional incidence was in order of oral cavity(335 cases), larynx(307), nose and paranasal sinus(277), pharynx(153). 4) incidence by age group was in order of 5th decade(32.88%), 4th decade(23.86%), 6th decade(21.37%), 3rd decade(8.94%), and under 20yrs of age(3.31%). 5) Sex incidence was 3.4 : 1 in carcinoma, 1.3 : 1 in sarcoma : Prominent in male, But sarcoma of the pharynx was more frequent in female(1 : 1.6).
